That said, if I ever had a stressful day ( 90% of the time because secondary school fucking sucked), I'd throw this into my dinky PS3, select Wang Yuanji and just watch an entire army fall to a shower of needles and giddy joy.

#CHUGGAACONROY ALL CHRONO TRIGGER ENDINGS SERIES#
The story is entertaining but hardly because it's a master work of art given the comically over-the-top cutscenes and voice acting and almost shounen like tropes (which is amusing since the series is based off of a historical novel but whatever), and while there is a lot of customisation and stuff to unlock, it ultimately doesn't change up the core gameplay all that much, that is to say extremely basic hack and slash gameplay that's more about the spectacle than it is the depth. It's a total power-high type of game and if you're looking for something with a lot of substance or tons of exciting things to do, then I'd say don't bother. better late than never I guess? Anyways, this was one of the first games I bought for the system and in between school, homework, chores and other such stuff, I'd pop this in to just watch the stress melt away like an ice-cream in the sun.ĭynasty Warriors isn't a game for everyone and I know a lot of people find the button-mashing repetition of the central gameplay to be excrutiatingly boring, but playing in it short bursts like I did made this such a joy to revisit over and over again, just to mindlessly mash buttons and watch entire armies who likely spent years away from their families and loved ones to be trained by the most elite of generals get juggled like bowling pins. I spent much of my life as a strictly Nintendo player but when I was I'd say around 15, I decided to sink my teeth into the world of PlayStation with the PS3. You ever have that game you play, not to be engaged by the story or sink hundreds of hours into but just to relieve some stress in the absolute most ridiculous way possible? Yeah, that's this game for me.
